Glitches Affect Google's AI Assistant Gemini at "Made by Google" Event

During Alphabet Inc.’s "Made by Google" event, the tech giant showcased its AI assistant, Gemini, which experienced technical difficulties during a live demonstration. The glitch occurred when the presenter, Dave Citron, was trying to demonstrate Gemini's new features on Android, specifically its integration with Google Calendar, Tasks, and Keep. However, the AI assistant failed to provide Citron with an answer when asked to check his calendar for availability for an upcoming Sabrina Carpenter concert in San Francisco, leading to an awkward moment as Gemini reset twice during the live demo.

In addition to the glitch with Gemini, the event also featured the launch of several new products by Google. Among the key announcements was the introduction of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, a flagship smartphone starting at $1,099, and the Pixel 9, which comes in a vibrant pink color with a starting price of $799 for the entry-level model and $999 for the Pro version. Google also unveiled the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, touted as the thinnest foldable device in the market with a starting price of $1,799, along with the Pixel Watch available in two sizes starting at $349.99 and the latest Pixel Buds priced at $229.99, featuring AI-powered features and enhanced noise cancellation.

Despite the glitches faced by Gemini during the live demonstration, Google's event showcased a range of innovative products and advancements in the tech industry. With the launch of new smartphones, foldable devices, smartwatches, and earbuds, Google continues to push boundaries in integrating AI technology into its products for enhanced user experiences. Additionally, the performance of Alphabet's Class A and Class C shares fluctuated slightly during the event, reflecting investor interest and market response to the company's latest offerings.
