Tech Analyst Gene Munster Defends Microsoft's Copilot AI Tools, Citing 'Growing Pains'

Gene Munster, a well-known tech analyst, recently appeared on CNBC's Fast Money to discuss Microsoft Corp.'s Copilot AI office tools. Despite some customers leaving the tool, Munster defended Microsoft, suggesting that the drop-offs were simply a result of the tool experiencing "growing pains." He expressed his ongoing positive outlook on Microsoft's AI growth story during the interview.

During the conversation, Munster shed light on the fact that only around 5 million out of approximately 450 million Office users are currently utilizing the Copilot AI tools. He emphasized that this relatively small user base needs to be considered when evaluating the favorable comments made by the company about the product in recent months. Additionally, he pointed out that during Microsoft's April earnings call, it was reported that 60% of Fortune 500 companies were using the AI tools, with usage doubling in the June quarter.
