In a significant achievement, Kerala has been acknowledged for its favorable business environment and transparent governance practices, securing top positions in various reform categories according to the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. At the Udhyog Sangam 2024 conference in New Delhi, Union Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal presented the Business Reforms Action Plan '22 award to P Rajeeve, Minister for Industries, Law and Coir, Government of Kerala. Kerala's success was highlighted in facilitating utility permits for businesses, paying taxes, implementing online single window system, issuing certificates efficiently through Urban Local Bodies and the Department of Revenue, providing utility permits, ensuring a seamless public distribution system, improvements in the transport sector, and effective functioning of employment exchanges.
The state's emphasis on creating a supportive environment for businesses to prosper was evident through its strategic policies and their successful enactment at various administrative levels, as noted by Minister Rajeeve. The effective delivery of services to citizens through up-to-date technology and digital tools has significantly contributed to Kerala's recognition as a top performer in business and citizen-centric reforms. The officials present at the conference, including Principal Secretary (Industries and Commerce) APM Mohammed Hanish, Managing Director of KSIDC S Harikishore, and KSIDC General Manager Varghese Malakaran, highlighted the state's commitment to advancing its business ecosystem and enhancing service delivery to its residents.
