A court in Bengaluru has decided to prolong the police custody of Prajwal Revanna, a former Member of Parliament, until June 10 as he faces allegations of sexual harassment. Revanna's arrest occurred following his arrival at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, with the Karnataka Police detaining him based on complaints filed against him.
In response to the charges against Revanna, a special investigation team (SIT) has initiated an assessment of his well-being by consulting a panel of doctors at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Centre in Bengaluru. This evaluation focuses on examining Revanna's physical and mental state to potentially present evidence in the ongoing rape trials he is involved in. The SIT took Revanna to the A B Vajpayee Medical College Hospital in central Bengaluru for a comprehensive medical examination, which lasted for over four hours and involved a team of six doctors.
It has been revealed by police sources that the examination conducted was aimed at establishing a detailed profile of Revanna's physical, psychological, and sexual characteristics, intending to utilize the findings as pertinent evidence in the ongoing legal proceedings related to the alleged rape cases. One source mentioned that while a potency test is not typically required in rape cases, this innovative analysis is being viewed as a valuable investigative tool to support the ongoing criminal investigations.
