A delegation from the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) met with Minister MB Patil in Bengaluru and expressed their interest in establishing an office in the city. Led by Vice Chairman Prasoon Mukherjee, the delegation highlighted their vision of creating a "Singapore in Bengaluru" and emphasized their capability to make this vision a reality with the state government's cooperation. Minister MB Patil responded positively to their proposal, assuring the delegation of the government's support in providing infrastructure such as land, water, power, and connectivity to facilitate their investment in the state.

In addition to expressing interest in setting up their office in Bengaluru, the SBF delegation was invited by Minister MB Patil to participate in Karnataka's upcoming flagship event, the 'Global Investors Meet' scheduled for February 2025. The delegation included representatives from companies like Applied Total Control (ATC) Treatment Pte. Ltd., Biomed Services Pte. Ltd., Catering Solutions Pte. Ltd., and others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Singapore, where he met with his counterpart Lawrence Wong, also highlighted the progress of India-Singapore bilateral relations and the decision to elevate the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both leaders discussed expanding trade and investment flows between the two countries, with Singapore being a significant economic partner for India with investments amounting to approximately USD 160 billion in the Indian economy. MoUs were exchanged for cooperation in areas such as Semiconductors, Digital Technologies, Skill Development, and Healthcare, reflecting the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between India and Singapore.
