Sofia's Vitosha Boulevard Transformed into a Book Lover's Paradise

This year, from today until September 15, Sofia's Vitosha Boulevard and the park area in front of the National Palace of Culture are being revamped into a mesmerizing open-air bookstore for the "Book Alley" event, organized by the "Bulgarian Book" Association. The event will see the participation of 138 publishing houses, each presenting their newest and most sought-after titles to the visitors of the exhibition, who can browse through book production housed in 59 different tents set up for the occasion.

The literary extravaganza will not only offer a diverse collection of books but also provide enriching experiences for attendees. Each day, a specially constructed stage will host literary readings, unveil new books, organize meetings with authors, and feature entertaining activities tailored for children, making it an event suitable for readers of all ages. Moreover, this year's edition introduces an exciting addition with the inaugural Festival of non-fiction "Science, Art, and Culture" that will occupy the Alley of the Book for two days, highlighting works spanning categories like "History," "Art Studies," "Cultural Tourism," "Self-Knowledge," and "Ethnology."

Recognized as a significant cultural event, the literary exhibition forms a part of the Cultural Calendar of Sofia Municipality, aligning with the "Sofia Celebrates September 17" Program. This cultural convergence not only celebrates the joy of reading and literature but also aims to foster a deeper connection between authors, publishers, and readers, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for literary enthusiasts in Sofia.
