Prime Minister Narendra Modi Files Nomination Papers in Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat on Friday, April 22nd, 2022. In his election affidavit, Modi disclosed his mobile phone number and email address, inviting direct communication with the public. He also declared his assets, revealing movable assets worth Rs 3.02 crore and Rs 52,920 in cash. Notably, the affidavit stated that Modi does not own any land, house, or car.
The nomination filing ceremony witnessed the presence of several NDA leaders, including Union ministers and chief ministers. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present, while Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was absent due to health reasons.
Prior to filing his nomination, Modi participated in an aarti on the banks of the Ganga at the Dashashwamedh ghat and offered prayers at the city's Kaal Bhairav temple. He then addressed local party members at the Rudraksha Convention Centre, urging them to raise awareness about the BJP's schemes.
In his address, Modi highlighted the significant achievements made during his tenure as the Member of Parliament for Varanasi. He also mentioned the increased voter turnout in each polling booth since the abrogation of Article 370, with an average of 370 more votes recorded compared to the previous general election.
Taking to social media, Modi expressed his honor to serve the historic Varanasi constituency and emphasized the commitment of the NDA alliance to national progress.
