Gujarat Establishes GRIT to Drive Development and Achieve "Viksit Gujarat @2047" Vision

Gujarat Strives for "Viksit Gujarat @2047" with New Institution

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat has embarked on a mission to achieve "Viksit Gujarat @2047," aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Viksit Bharat @2047." This ambitious initiative aims to propel Gujarat towards becoming a developed state by 2047.

Inspired by NITI Aayog, the state has established the Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT), a dedicated think tank tasked with providing strategic direction and leadership to realize the vision document's short-term and long-term goals.

Headed by the Chief Minister, GRIT's Governing Body comprises key ministers and experts in various fields, including agriculture, finance, health, education, and industry. A retired or serving Additional Chief Secretary-level officer will serve as the CEO and Member Secretary.

GRIT's responsibilities are multifaceted. It will review and oversee the implementation of recommendations aimed at achieving a five-trillion-dollar economy, promote balanced economic growth across various sectors, and assess and supervise state schemes and programs. Additionally, GRIT will identify areas for improvement, recommend strategies aligned with the long-term vision, and promote good governance.

Furthermore, GRIT will recommend key focus areas for long-term development, suggest new initiatives by enhancing coordination between government departments, and propose strategies for multidimensional development. It will also review successful policies and best practices from national and international contexts.

Collaboration with leading organizations for cross-sectoral partnerships, knowledge-sharing, and capacity-building programs is also within GRIT's purview. It will encourage the integration of cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Blockchain, and advise the state government on mobilizing financial resources for development.

To ensure effective implementation, a governing body and an executive committee will oversee GRIT's work. The executive committee will handle day-to-day operations and oversee the execution of recommendations and decisions made by the governing body.

With GRIT at the helm, Gujarat takes a significant step towards realizing its vision of becoming a developed state by 2047, contributing to the larger goal of a "Viksit Bharat.
