Gujarat CM Allocates Additional Funds for Roadworks in Municipal Areas

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced an additional allocation of Rs 2 crore to each MLA in municipal corporation areas for roadworks in their constituencies. This decision aims to improve urban infrastructure and enhance mobility.

MLAs in municipal areas receive grants from the Urban Development Department for road construction and repairs. However, Chief Minister Patel has approved an extra Rs 2 crore per MLA from the Roads and Buildings Department to supplement these funds. This brings the total allocation for roadworks in municipal corporation areas to Rs 86 crore.

The additional funding will enable prompt repair of road damage caused during the monsoon season, improving urban well-being. Municipal Corporations are instructed to execute these projects in consultation with the respective MLAs.

This initiative demonstrates the Gujarat government's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
