Karnataka to Hold Farmers' Adalat for Township Construction
The Karnataka government has announced plans to hold a "farmers' adalat" to simplify the land acquisition process for the construction of townships in Bengaluru suburbs. The announcement was made by Housing Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan during a meeting with MLAs and Housing Board officials on September 12th.
The first phase of land acquisition will focus on areas like Dabaspet, Solur, Hoskote, Bidadi, and Ramanagara. To ensure a smooth process, the government will hold a "farmers' adalat" to discuss the project with landowners and obtain their consent.
The meeting, held at the KHB Conference Hall in Bengaluru, saw legislators express their support for the project, provided farmers voluntarily offer their land on a 50:50 basis.
This initiative aims to address the growing housing needs of the city while ensuring fair compensation for landowners. The "farmers' adalat" will play a crucial role in facilitating open communication and building trust between the government and the farming community.
