Condemnation of Union Minister's Remarks on Rahul Gandhi
Partap Singh Bajwa, Leader of Opposition in Punjab, strongly condemned the remarks made by Union Minister and BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Bajwa expressed deep concern over Bittu's failure to comprehend the constitutional values he is sworn to uphold. He described Bittu's remarks as "derogatory" and indicative of a "profound lack of education and understanding of parliamentary principles."
Bajwa urged the Government of India to take note of Bittu's irresponsible comments and ensure that those in positions of power respect the dignity of the Constitution and the office they hold. He emphasized that Bittu's remarks are an affront to democracy and cannot be excused as mere lapses in judgement.
Congress leaders Sandeep Dikshit and Tariq Anwar also criticized Bittu's remarks. Dikshit highlighted Bittu's political opportunism, stating that he used to praise Rahul Gandhi while in Congress but now criticizes him after joining BJP. Anwar attributed Bittu's statements to his desire to prove his loyalty to BJP and his anti-Rahul Gandhi stance.
In response to Bittu's accusations, Rahul Gandhi stated that he is an Indian and loves his country. He denied Bittu's claims that he spent most of his time outside India and said that he has always spoken in favor of the country. Gandhi also rejected Bittu's allegations of being a terrorist and stated that he has always worked for the unity and integrity of the nation.
