Kura Sushi to Offer Longest Conveyor Belt at 2025 Osaka Expo
Sushi enthusiasts attending the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo will have a unique opportunity to experience the longest conveyor belt in Kura Sushi's history. The restaurant, located outside of a country's pavilion, will boast a 135-meter-long belt, the longest in the company's history.
With 338 seats, the restaurant will also be the largest in the sushi chain's history. The concept behind the outlet is a "revolving conveyor belt that unites the world," offering food from various countries as side dishes and sushi toppings.
Kura Sushi is the only major chain that has continued to offer the conveyor belt experience despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The company believes that conveyor belt sushi bars should live up to their name and convey sushi on rotating belts. They hope that customers will enjoy the fun of it and that they can further expand their restaurants worldwide.
The restaurant will be open throughout the expo, which runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025. This marks a return to the city where the concept of conveyor belt sushi first gained national attention at the 1970 Osaka Expo.
Previously, the company's longest conveyor belt was 123 meters long at its Global Flagship Store Ginza in Tokyo. The restaurant with the most seats, 288, was located in Taiwan.
