Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled the names of seven Indian generative AI start-ups that are part of the AWS Global Generative AI Accelerator programme. These start-ups, such as Convrse, House of Models, Neural Garage, Orbo.ai, Phot.ai, Unscript AI, and Zocket, were selected from a pool of 80 companies worldwide based on their innovative applications of AI and their aspirations for international expansion. AWS revealed that this batch of Indian start-ups represents the largest number of selected companies from a single country in the Asia-Pacific region participating in the AWS Global Generative AI Accelerator programme.
As part of its $230 million commitment to promoting Gen AI-driven applications globally, AWS will offer the chosen start-ups access to a range of resources. This includes AWS compute, storage, and database technologies, as well as credits, mentorship, education, and tools like AWS Inferentia2 and AWS Trainium to enhance their utilization of AI and machine learning technologies. The programme, spanning over 10 weeks, will pair business and technical mentors tailored to each start-up's industry. Additionally, the selected start-ups will benefit from up to $1 million each in AWS credits to support the creation, training, testing, and deployment of their generative AI solutions. In collaboration with NVIDIA, a leader in accelerated computing, participants will also gain insights and technical training through technology sessions.
Amitabh Nagpal, the Head of Startup Business Development at AWS India, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that the $230 million pledge and the international expansion of the generative AI accelerator program highlight AWS's commitment to nurturing start-ups in developing, scaling, and realizing their unique concepts using generative AI. With a focus on empowering these selected start-ups, AWS anticipates witnessing groundbreaking advancements that will address intricate challenges not only in India but across the globe.
