Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially submitted his nomination papers for the Varanasi parliamentary seat, unveiling his mobile phone number (8980809224) and email ID (narendramodi@narendramodi.in) in the election affidavit. The document also outlined Modi's financial details, revealing his moveable assets valued at Rs 3.02 crore, cash in hand amounting to Rs 52,920, and an increase in taxable income from Rs 11 lakh in the fiscal year 2018-19 to Rs 23.5 lakh in 2022-23.
The nomination ceremony in Varanasi witnessed the presence of various NDA leaders, such as Union ministers and chief ministers, who showed their support as PM Modi sought a third term from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency. Despite notable attendees like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was notably absent due to health reasons during the filing process. Modi, dressed in a white kurta-pajama paired with a blue sadri, commenced the day by participating in an aarti on the banks of the Ganga at the Dashashwamedh ghat and offering prayers at the Kaal Bhairav temple.
Following the submission of his nomination papers, PM Modi engaged with local party members at the Rudraksha Convention Centre, urging them to spread awareness about the BJP's initiatives. He mentioned the increased voter turnout in each polling booth post the abrogation of Article 370, highlighting the growth and engagement witnessed during his tenure. Through social media, Modi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve Varanasi, acknowledging the support of NDA allies and their joint commitment to national development.
