Kura Sushi to Offer Longest Conveyor Belt at 2025 Osaka Expo
Sushi enthusiasts attending the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo will have a unique dining experience at the Kura Sushi outlet. The restaurant will boast the longest sushi conveyor belt in the company's history, stretching an impressive 135 meters.
This attraction will not only be a feast for the eyes but also for the stomach, as it will offer the most seats in the sushi chain's history, accommodating 338 diners.
Inspired by the concept of a "revolving conveyor belt that unites the world," the outlet will serve a diverse menu featuring food from around the globe as side dishes and sushi toppings.
This commitment to the traditional conveyor belt experience stands out in the post-pandemic landscape, where many restaurants have opted to discontinue their use due to hygiene concerns and social media-driven pranks.
Kura Sushi, however, remains steadfast in its belief that conveyor belt sushi bars should stay true to their name. A company official emphasizes, "We want customers to enjoy the fun of it and hope that we can further expand our restaurants worldwide."
The restaurant will be open throughout the expo, which runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for Kura Sushi, surpassing the previous record-holding conveyor belt at its Global Flagship Store Ginza in Tokyo, which measured 123 meters. Additionally, the restaurant surpasses the company's previous record for the most seats, which was held by its Taiwan location with 288 seats.
The concept of conveyor belt sushi first gained national attention at the 1970 Osaka Expo, where a similar restaurant opened its doors. The 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo promises to continue this legacy, offering visitors a unique and memorable dining experience.
