Dr Leah Totton, known for her success as the 2013 winner of The Apprentice, alongside her business partner Lord Alan Sugar, has recently finalized a major business deal. The dynamic duo has sold a significant portion of their Botox and cosmetic clinic chain, Dr Leah Clinics, to Advanced Aesthetics Partners (AAP), resulting in a lucrative multi-million pound payout. This venture, which began following Totton's £250,000 investment win on the popular BBC show, has transformed into a thriving chain with locations in London and Essex, offering a variety of cosmetic treatments such as non-surgical facelifts, injectable fillers, and skin treatments.
Although the specific financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, reports suggest that the business is valued at an impressive sum exceeding £7 million. Prior to the sale, both Dr Leah Totton and Lord Sugar each held a 50% share in the company and have opted to maintain their positions as shareholders post-sale. Dr Leah, originally hailing from Londonderry, Northern Ireland, where she worked as an NHS A&E doctor, reflected on her remarkable journey since participating in The Apprentice as a 25-year-old with limited business acumen. She described the show as a "life-changing opportunity" that has paved the way for the brand's promising future growth under the new ownership structure. Furthermore, the deal encompasses Dr Leah’s skincare line, which was introduced in 2022 as part of the clinic's expanding product offerings.
AAP, a company specializing in acquiring aesthetic clinics within the UK, is strategizing to further develop the Dr Leah brand following this latest acquisition. This transaction follows a pattern of success post-Apprentice, as evidenced by the recent profitable sale of Climb Online, another business originating from the show and founded by Mark Wright, the 2014 champion, which fetched approximately £10 million in 2022. Lord Sugar's history of business acumen is underscored by his prior lucrative stake sale in Tropic Skincare back to its founder, Susie Ma, who was a former show contestant, in a similar multi-million pound transaction.
