Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently introduced significant changes in the state's IT and ITeS policy during the Vikas Saptah celebrations, marking 23 years of development since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure in Gujarat. The reforms aim to create a conducive environment for emerging technologies and innovation, in line with PM Modi's vision for a developed India by 2047.

Under CM Patel's leadership, the state government has enhanced the IT and ITeS policy to focus on deep-tech startups, incorporating technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Big Data, and Data Science. The policy revisions also provide guidelines for IT and ITeS parks, ensuring that the state remains connected to global technological advancements including AR, VR, MR, and Quantum Computing.

The updated policy offers incentives like increased CAPEX support, OPEX support, and special benefits for eligible entities in Gujarat. These incentives include financial assistance for job creation, interest subsidies on term loans, reimbursement of statutory contributions, employment assistance, and electricity duty reimbursement. Additionally, support is extended to incubators, accelerators, startups, and Global In-House Centers in the IT sector to foster investments and growth in deep-tech development.
