The UAE Continues to Support Lebanon with Humanitarian Aid
The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its fifteenth aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential food packages to Lebanon, specifically for children. This delivery is part of the ongoing "UAE Stands with Lebanon" national campaign, launched following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President.
Since the beginning of October 2024, the UAE has delivered a total of 672 tonnes of relief supplies to Lebanon. This aid is being closely monitored by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, and under the supervision of Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations, reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to responding to humanitarian needs and providing essential relief supplies to the people of Lebanon. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the values and principles of the UAE, inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The UAE continues to provide support to the Lebanese people through air and sea bridges. Additionally, they are assisting Syrian refugees returning from Lebanon to Syria through humanitarian institutions and Emirati charity organizations. These efforts aim to ensure early recovery, achieve security and stability in the region, and mitigate the repercussions of the ongoing crisis.
The total amount of UAE humanitarian aid to Lebanon and Syria has reached 2,772 tonnes. This includes 772 tonnes dispatched directly to the two countries, and 2,000 tonnes delivered through the UAE relief ship that recently arrived in Beirut.
