At the start of the 51st parliament, ITN party, led by Slavi Trifonov, is launching a petition to gather signatures for a formal complaint to be presented to the Constitutional Court. This initiative is in response to the partial cassation of the elections, with a focus on verifying the validity of the citizens' votes in areas where there was a lack of video surveillance. Trifonov expressed strong sentiments about the current state of the country, highlighting a growing sense of unease within society and a perception that certain individuals are operating above the law and undermining the democratic election process.
The ITN party believes that the integrity of the recent elections is in question and aims to address these concerns through legal channels. Trifonov emphasized the importance of ensuring that the democratic principles of the election process are upheld and that any irregularities are investigated and rectified. In order to proceed with the complaint to the Constitutional Court, a minimum of 48 signatures from Members of Parliament (MPs) is required, with ITN already securing 18 signatures towards this goal. The party's efforts to challenge the election results and call attention to alleged discrepancies have garnered support from within the political landscape, with the Vazrazhdane party also advocating for a recount of the votes in the elections.
