Tesla, Inc. has introduced a new campaign targeting Chinese customers, offering them the opportunity to win a tour of the company's Giga Shanghai facility. Through the official trade-in program, customers who order a new vehicle and accept delivery within the specified period will be eligible for this promotion until December 3. The EV giant is leveraging this incentive to tap into China's auto consumption stimulus and boost car purchases in the region.
According to reports from Teslarati, the Giga Shanghai tour promotion will select ten winners who can each bring a friend for the tour. The prize package includes complimentary round-trip airfare and hotel accommodation for the winners. This move by Tesla comes as the gigafactory in Shanghai achieves a significant production milestone, reaching an impressive 3 million cars manufactured at the facility. The announcement was made on social media platform X, showcasing the celebration at the plant with employees and a red Tesla car.
The Giga Shanghai facility serves as Tesla's largest production hub by volume, with an estimated annual output exceeding 950,000 vehicles. The plant manufactures popular models like the Model 3 and Model Y, catering to both the Chinese domestic market and international markets. In a separate development, Tesla has reportedly increased wages for all employees at its gigafactory in Berlin, with the pay raise taking effect at the beginning of November. The Berlin factory, Tesla's sole manufacturing site in Europe, currently has an installed annual capacity exceeding 375,000 Model Y vehicles. Tesla's stock, indicated by TSLA shares, saw a 4.39% increase in trading value, reaching $253.13 by the last check on Tuesday.
