GERB Leader Demands Apology, Outlines "Red Lines" for Coalition Negotiations

GERB Leader Calls for Apology or Withdrawal of Decree

GERB leader Boyko Borissov has demanded an apology from the presidential institution for Vice President Iliana Iotova's questioning of the legitimacy of the upcoming October 27th elections. If an apology is not forthcoming, Borissov has called for the withdrawal of the decree convening the 51st National Assembly.

Borissov Defines "Red Lines" for Potential Coalition

In anticipation of receiving the first exploratory mandate to form a cabinet, Borissov has outlined his "red lines" for potential future consultations. His firm condition is that the chairman of the 51st National Assembly must be from GERB-SDS, as a guarantee for the start of negotiations.

Borissov Open to Governing with Supporters of GERB Program

Borissov has stated that he is open to governing with any party that supports the GERB program. However, he has ruled out any compromise with the PP-DB coalition.

GERB to Decide on Partial Election Cancellation

At today's GERB national meeting, the party is expected to decide whether to request a partial cancellation of the elections, provided that this would lead to the formation of a regular government, as Borissov had previously suggested.
