Shiv Nadar, the founder-chairman of HCL Technologies, saw a 5% increase in his philanthropic contributions in FY24, donating Rs 5.9 crore every day through the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which focuses on education, arts, and culture. Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries secured the second spot on the list with contributions amounting to Rs 407 crore, while the Bajaj family and Kumar Mangalam Birla were ranked third and fourth, respectively, with substantial donations. In a notable trend, the threshold to enter the top 10 philanthropists in India has doubled to Rs 154 crore, showcasing a growing trend of generosity among the country's elite.

Gautam Adani, known for his contributions through the Adani Foundation, made a significant donation of Rs 330 crore, landing him in the fifth position on the list. Nandan Nilekani, the co-founder of Infosys, and his wife Rohini Nilekani also made impressive contributions, with Nandan donating Rs 307 crore and Rohini securing the tenth spot with donations of Rs 154 crore through their philanthropic endeavors. Another new entrant to the list is Krishna Chivukula, Chairman of INDO MIM, who earned the seventh spot with a monumental donation to IIT Madras. The philanthropic efforts of prominent figures like Anil Agarwal, Susmita & Subroto Bagchi, and various others have been highlighted for their substantial contributions to different causes, such as education, public health, and community development.
