Andhra Pradesh Secures Rs 65,000 Crore Investment for Compressed Bio Gas Projects
The Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reliance Industries, securing a significant investment of Rs 65,000 crore for Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) projects. This partnership is expected to generate 2.5 lakh employment opportunities in the state.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his enthusiasm about the agreement, stating that it will make Andhra Pradesh a frontrunner in clean energy and sustainable development. He also highlighted Reliance's commitment to enhancing lives and livelihoods in the state, driving growth across multiple sectors.
The MoU includes the establishment of 500 state-of-the-art CBG plants throughout Andhra Pradesh over the next three years, as part of Reliance's national target of 2,000 CBG plants. This initiative aligns with the state's Integrated Clean Energy Policy, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination for industries.
Andhra Pradesh Aims for 15% Growth Rate
In a separate development, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence in achieving a 15% growth rate for Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized the importance of creating wealth through various opportunities and distributing it to improve the living conditions of the poor.
Naidu recalled the 13.5% growth rate achieved during the previous TDP regime and expressed his belief that the state can surpass this achievement. He assured that the government will take necessary steps to implement plans and policies to reach the target.
A task force has been established to identify economic growth avenues, assess infrastructure needs, and recommend policy reforms to drive Andhra Pradesh's transformation. The focus areas include infrastructure, entrepreneurship, skills development, MSMEs, and manufacturing. The task force aims to chart a comprehensive roadmap for achieving substantial growth by 2030 and 2047, attracting new investments, and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leader in economic advancement.
