Tata Power and Noida International Airport (NIA) have formed a strategic partnership to facilitate the supply of renewable energy to the airport operator. This agreement, involving an investment of Rs 550 crore by Tata Power, focuses on the installation of solar and wind power units. As part of the deal, Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL) will oversee the renewable energy portfolio interface, managing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to ensure NIA's clean energy requirements are met.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, will provide 10.8 MW of wind power to NIA under the agreement. Additionally, TPREL will be responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining a 13 MW onsite solar power capacity to support the airport's energy needs. This collaboration underscores Tata Power's commitment to delivering clean energy solutions to NIA over the next 25 years.
Moreover, Tata Power will play a significant role in the development of essential dry utilities and smart energy infrastructure at Noida International Airport. The company will handle critical aspects such as the establishment of electrical infrastructure and provide operation and maintenance services for a 25-year period. This comprehensive approach aims to meet the airport's evolving energy requirements and contribute to the realization of a greener future in line with Tata Power's sustainability initiatives.
