Veteran BJP Leader LK Advani Discharged from AIIMS
Veteran BJP leader LK Advani was discharged from AIIMS today after being admitted on June 26th. The 96-year-old leader was evaluated by a team of doctors and underwent a minor procedure. He was admitted for age-related issues and is now recovering well.
Advani, a prominent figure in Indian politics, was conferred the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, earlier this year. He served as the deputy prime minister during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure.
Advani played a pivotal role in the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Ram Temple movement. He was born in Karachi in 1927 and joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 14. He served as the BJP president for several terms, making him the longest-serving president of the party. He also served as the leader of opposition during Manmohan Singh's first term as Prime Minister.
