Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Inaugurates Projects in Rohru

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dedicated projects worth Rs 100.95 crore to the people of the Rohru assembly segment in Shimla district on November 30th, 2023. These projects aim to benefit the region's horticulturists, improve healthcare facilities, and enhance infrastructure.

Ultra-modern grading and state-of-the-art controlled atmosphere (CA) store: This project, costing Rs 29.22 crore, increases the storage capacity from 700 metric tonnes to 2,031 MT, significantly aiding apple farmers.

Installation of machinery worth Rs 20.93 crore enables the grading of 5 metric tonnes of apples per hour, boosting efficiency.

A new hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 2.79 crore provides access to traditional healthcare services.

Completion of the Chunjar-Katlah, Shalan, Melthi-Kupri water supply scheme (Rs 3.92 crore) and a drinking water scheme for the Rohru rural area (Rs 5.03 crore) address water needs.

Foundation stones were laid for various road projects worth Rs 51.74 crore, including strengthening of the Podhar-Mandiyori-Karasa road, Seema-Ratnari road, Samoli-Parsa road, Rohru-Arhal-Bashla road, and Mehandli-Ganasidhar road.

Construction of a hostel at a cost of Rs 8.25 crore will provide accommodation for students.

Government College Seema, Rohru: The college will be named after former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. A B.Ed. course will commence from the next academic session, and financial support will be provided for hostel construction. A multipurpose building is also planned.

The Chief Minister criticized the previous government for opening educational and health institutions without budgetary provisions, leading to a decline in quality. He emphasized the current government's commitment to improving education through tough decisions, introducing new vocational courses, and ensuring quality education and better employment opportunities for students.

The Chief Minister felicitated students excelling in various activities and administered an oath encouraging them to refrain from drug use.

He announced Rs 1 lakh in appreciation for the vibrant cultural program presented by the college students.
