In the ongoing political drama in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Shambhuraj Desai revealed that the Shiv Sena and NCP have already selected their legislative leaders, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar respectively. The BJP is set to choose its legislative leader in a meeting on December 2, following which the three party leaders will collaborate to decide the configuration for the state cabinet and its portfolios.
Responding to Sharad Pawar's comments about the alleged misuse of power and money in elections, Desai criticized Pawar for not raising these concerns during the election period. He suggested that if there were any discrepancies, complaints should have been filed earlier. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat hinted at significant decisions to be made by caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde by Sunday, with all clarifications regarding portfolio allotments expected by Monday evening.
Eknath Shinde recently retreated to his native village, following a meeting in the national capital with Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar, and other Mahayuti leaders alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda. Shinde described the meeting with Shah and Nadda as "good and positive," signaling further discussions within the Mahayuti alliance to determine the Chief Minister face, with the next meeting set to take place in Mumbai. Despite the BJP emerging as the largest party in the Maharashtra Assembly election, the uncertainty lingers over the selection of the Chief Minister.
