Prajwal Revanna's Police Custody Extended, Undergoes Medical Examination
A special court in Bengaluru has extended the police custody of former Member of Parliament (MP) Prajwal Revanna until June 10th. Revanna is facing charges of sexual harassment.
Last week, the former Hassan MP was arrested by the Karnataka Police upon his arrival at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. He was subsequently taken into custody by a special investigation team (SIT).
The SIT investigating the case sought the opinion of a medical panel at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Centre in Bengaluru regarding Revanna's physical and psychological state.
On Wednesday, Revanna was taken to the A B Vajpayee Medical College Hospital (Bowring Hospital) in central Bengaluru for a medical examination. He was examined by a panel of six doctors for over four hours.
According to police sources, the examination aimed to obtain Revanna's physical, psychological, and sexual profile, which could be used as evidence in the ongoing rape trials against him. "The potency test is not required in rape cases. This is a new analysis that can help the investigation," a source stated.
