In a recent move to combat corruption, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out surprise checks at Road Transport Authority (RTA) check posts in different parts of the state. The raids, conducted at Bhoraj Check post in Adilabad, Vishnupuram Check post in Nalgonda, and Alampur Check post in Gadwal, were part of an effort to crackdown on malpractices and ensure accountability in the system.
During the surprise searches, the ACB seized unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 1,78,300. Of this amount, Rs 62,500 was recovered from the Bhoraj Check post, Rs 86,600 from the Vishnupuram Check post, and Rs 29,200 from the Alampur Check post. In addition to the cash seizures, various irregularities were also detected during the raids, as highlighted by the agency in a press release detailing the operation.
A total of 7 teams were involved in conducting the searches at the RTA check posts, with the primary objective being the rooting out of corruption and ensuring transparency in the functioning of these crucial checkpoints. Following the raids, the ACB intends to present a detailed report to the government, outlining the findings and recommending appropriate actions against any officials found to be engaging in corrupt activities.
