IndiGo Responds to Ranking Among World's Worst Airlines for 2024

IndiGo, a major player in the Indian aviation industry, has expressed strong disapproval of its ranking in the AirHelp Score Report 2024, which labelled it as one of the world's worst airlines for the year. The evaluation placed IndiGo at a lowly 103rd position out of 109 airlines scrutinized, a ranking disputed by the airline. According to IndiGo, its consistent high performance in punctuality and minimal customer complaints stands in contrast to the report's findings.

The European claims processing agency behind the AirHelp report assessed airlines on various criteria such as customer feedback, on-time performance, and service quality. However, IndiGo raised concerns over the lack of transparency in the survey's methodology and data reporting, pointing out that critical factors like the sample size from India and compensation guidelines in the aviation industry were not adequately considered. The airline emphasized its impressive operational stats provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), showcasing its dominance in the Indian market with a significant market share.

IndiGo, known for its extensive domestic and international flight networks, operates a vast fleet of over 380 aircraft, serving numerous destinations daily. Despite the report's criticisms, the airline reiterated its commitment to providing customers with a reliable, cost-effective, and pleasant travel experience. On the global scale, the AirHelp Score Report 2024 ranked Brussels Airlines, Qatar Airways, and United Airlines as the top three carriers, based on data from a range of countries and factors such as passenger claims, punctuality, and service quality.
