A tragic accident occurred in Vijayapura district, Karnataka, on Friday, December 6, claiming the lives of five individuals. The victims were traveling in a four-wheeler when it collided head-on with a sugarcane harvesting machine near Bilebhavi Cross.
The impact of the collision was devastating, leaving the car mangled and trapping the victims inside. A JCB machine was required to extricate their bodies. The deceased have been identified as Shanthava Shankar Patil, Sasikala Jainapura, Ningappa Patil, Bhimashi Sankanala, and Dilip Patil, all residents of Aliabad, Vijayapura.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and the bodies have been sent to Bagewadi Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for caution while driving.
Earlier on the same day, two separate accidents in Kannauj and Chitrakoot districts resulted in the deaths of 13 people. In Kannauj, a double-decker bus collided with a water tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, killing eight and injuring 19. The bus was en route to Delhi from Lucknow when the accident occurred.
In Chitrakoot, a vehicle carrying 11 people collided with a truck while returning from Prayagraj, killing six and injuring five. The victims were returning after immersing a family member's ashes.
