Gaurav Taneja Addresses Earnings Claims and Shark Tank India Appearance
YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, known for his family vlogging channel Flying Beast, recently addressed media reports suggesting he earns a staggering ₹1 crore per hour through his whey protein business, Beast Life. In a YouTube vlog, Taneja clarified that this figure represents revenue, not actual profit.
"People have started thinking that I earn ₹1 crore in one hour, but that's not how it works. That's only revenue; it isn't money in the bank or money in the pocket," he explained. He emphasized that Beast Life is a startup, and any earnings are reinvested back into the business.
Taneja also addressed claims that his appearance on Shark Tank India was solely for marketing purposes. He asserted that he sought both investment and marketing opportunities from the show. "You can't run a business without them. We went for both, it's not like we didn't want the marketing. We did. The biggest companies of the world want marketing," he stated.
He admitted to experiencing some disagreements with investors on the show, promising "enough masala" for his fans in the episode. He also revealed his initial hesitation to participate, with his wife and CEO expressing concerns about potential backlash if the investors disliked their product.
Taneja's decision to appear on Shark Tank India was ultimately influenced by one of his investors. He also referenced the controversy surrounding Fit & Flex's Pathik Patel in season 3, where accusations of misleading customers were made. Taneja expressed empathy for Patel's situation, highlighting the potential for editing to misrepresent information.
