Union Minister Chirag Paswan optimistic about new investments in food processing sector

Union Minister Chirag Paswan, part of India's delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, expressed confidence in attracting new investments in the food processing sector. He emphasized that investors are not just interested in India as a market but are also considering investments and ecosystem development. Paswan stated that the Modi government aims for India to become a global food basket and highlighted the abundance and capabilities of the country in providing support globally.

Paswan mentioned that during the WEF meeting, there have been numerous interactions with major industry players who are looking towards India with serious interest. He pointed out India's progress in terms of enhancing logistics, improving ease of business, and providing facilities like single-window clearances, which have garnered positive attention from global stakeholders in the food processing sector. The Minister highlighted that India's federal structure respects collaborations and has managed to provide international investors with ease of doing business and streamlined clearances, which has been a significant factor in attracting major investments into the sector.

Reflecting on India's representation at the WEF meeting, Paswan emphasized that despite the federal structure, Indian delegates unite to represent the country strongly on a global platform. He mentioned that different states coming together collectively voice India's concerns, issues, thought process, and vision. The annual WEF meeting in Davos for 2025 aims to bring together government, business, and civil society leaders to set the agenda for making the world a better place, focusing on the theme 'Collaboration for the Intelligent Age'.
