JD Vance Sworn in as Vice President, Donald Trump Takes Oath as 47th President

On January 20th, JD Vance was sworn in as the 50th Vice President of the United States at the US Capitol Rotunda in Washington DC. He was accompanied by his wife Usha Vance and daughter. Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to the 40-year-old Vance, making him the third youngest Vice President in US history.

Following Vance's swearing-in, Donald Trump took the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States. He used the same Bible as Abraham Lincoln during the ceremony.

Before the ceremony, Tenor Christopher Macchio performed "Oh, America" in the Capitol Rotunda. Trump arrived at the Capitol with outgoing President Joe Biden after a pre-inauguration tea at the White House. Biden welcomed Trump with a "Welcome Home" and left a letter for him in the Oval Office.

After the swearing-in, President Trump participated in a signing ceremony in the President's Room, a tradition started by President Ronald Reagan in 1981. This event marks one of the first official actions of the newly sworn president, where he signs nominations and various memorandums or proclamations.

Following the signing, a luncheon was held, and Trump reviewed the troops before heading to Capitol Hill for the inaugural parade. Later, he and his wife participated in a signing ceremony at the White House and delivered remarks at the Convention Centre.

The evening concluded with the first dance at the Liberty Ball, followed by participation in the Commander-in-Chief Ball and the United Station Ball. The day ended with Trump's return to the White House.

Earlier on January 6th, Trump's election victory was certified with no objections from any lawmakers. He won 312 electoral votes while Harris received 226, marking the final step in the election process.
