Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly politicizing his security and accused him of going back on his previous promise to not take security by making it an election agenda. The withdrawal of Punjab Police personnel from Kejriwal's security was prompted by directives from the Delhi Police and the Election Commission, leading to a dispute between political parties over the issue.
Sachdeva also responded to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's statement challenging Kejriwal to take a "bath in Yamuna," pointing out the pollution in the river and criticizing Kejriwal for previous statements about not voting for unclean Yamuna conditions. Kejriwal, in turn, labeled the security withdrawal as "pure politics" and stressed the importance of keeping personal safety issues free from political influence.
Amid allegations from AAP that Kejriwal has been attacked multiple times during election campaigning, Kejriwal accused the BJP of orchestrating such incidents and criticized the Delhi Police's handling of security matters. The confrontation between political leaders highlights the intense competition and conflicting narratives surrounding the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5.
