Tata Group-owned Air India has announced that it will be operating evening flights AI237 and AI238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi route despite the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. In light of the situation, the airline has offered a one-time waiver to passengers who wish to reschedule their flights on any Air India flight to and from Dhaka between 4th and 7th August 2024. This decision comes after Air India and IndiGo cancelled their scheduled flights to and from Dhaka with immediate effect due to the protests following the resignation of Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Air India emphasized the safety of customers and crew as its top priority and encouraged passengers with confirmed bookings during the specified dates to consider rescheduling if needed. The airline highlighted the importance of customer safety during such challenging circumstances and provided contact information for passengers to reach out for more information. Previously, Air India operated two daily flights from Delhi to Dhaka, while Vistara and IndiGo also had flight services to the Bangladesh capital, which were impacted by the unrest in the region.
