AAP MPs Alleging Delhi Police Harassment of Workers and Orchestrated Violence

Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including MPs Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak, raised concerns at the Parliament Street Police Station after Delhi Police allegedly detained several party workers engaged in door-to-door campaigning in the New Delhi Assembly constituency. Chadha addressed the media, explaining that the workers were taken to the police station, and party leaders intervened to ensure their release by highlighting the absence of any violation of laws.

Chadha expressed the belief that the incident was a deliberate attempt to instill fear and undermine the morale of AAP workers as the elections approached. He asserted that the detention of party workers was unjustified and accused the authorities of misusing their power to hinder the party's electoral progress. Additionally, AAP MP Chadha claimed that despite the efforts of the police to keep the workers in custody, they were ultimately released due to legal reasons pointed out by the party leaders during the interaction with the authorities.

In a separate incident, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating violence during his public meeting in Hari Nagar. Kejriwal alleged that BJP supporters were allowed to disrupt the event and even attacked his car, attributing the chaos to alleged directives from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Kejriwal made strong statements against Amit Shah, accusing him of using the Delhi Police as a "personal army" for the BJP and questioning the Election Commission's inaction in protecting opposition figures during campaigning.
