
Madhya Pradesh Governor Celebrates National Voters' Day, Encourages Increased Participation
Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel participated in a program organized in the state capital on the occasion of the 15th National Voters' Day. He administered an oath to the people, urging them to be aware and vigilant about their voting rights.
Governor Patel also honored district and state-level officers and employees for their excellent work in the election process. He distributed EPIC cards to new voters and addressed the program at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium.
Patel stressed the importance of a free and fair election system and voter participation as the foundation of democracy. He commended the Election Commission's work and encouraged them to make special efforts to increase the voting percentage, particularly in areas with historically low turnout.
He highlighted the encouraging trend of women's registration exceeding that of men, signifying the growing strength of democracy. He urged the commission to identify polling booths with low voter turnout and engage with the community to understand the reasons and encourage participation.
Governor Patel lauded the unprecedented participation of voters, especially women and specially-abled individuals, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He extended his greetings to the people of the state and the Election Commission for their efforts in strengthening democracy.
Patel emphasized the need for a clean and complete voter list for a free and fair election process. He encouraged every eligible voter to participate and exercise their right to vote with fairness and fearlessness. He emphasized the responsibility of both the commission and citizens to ensure informed voting, free from misconceptions and discrimination.
He concluded by stating that the rights granted by the constitution will be meaningful only when citizens fulfill their duty to elect capable and ethical candidates, contributing to the nation's progress towards becoming a developed nation.
