Tata Group-owned Air India has confirmed that it will run its evening flights AI237 and AI238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi route on Tuesday. This decision comes as the airline adjusts its operations following cancellations on the same route by both Air India and IndiGo after unrest in Dhaka, which arose from protests following the resignation of Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In response to the uncertain situation in Dhaka, Air India is offering passengers a one-time waiver that allows them to reschedule their flights if their travel plans change. Customers with confirmed bookings on any Air India flight to or from Dhaka between 4th and 7th August 2024 can avail of this waiver, provided they make the new booking on or before 5th August.
The airline reiterated its commitment to the safety of both customers and crew during these challenging times. Additionally, the report mentioned that until recently, Air India maintained two daily flights from Delhi to Dhaka, accompanied by Vistara’s daily service from Mumbai and three weekly services from Delhi, while IndiGo suspended all its flights on this route.
