The platform provides users with access to an immense catalogue of movies, TV shows, original series, live sports events, and anime, totaling around 3 lakh hours of content. It targets a wide demographic by offering content in over 19 languages, aiming to make premium digital entertainment accessible to all.
The service is designed to cater to both free-viewing audiences and those opting for an ad-free experience. Users can watch free content without a subscription, while subscription plans start at ₹149 per quarter for uninterrupted viewing. Existing subscribers of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar can easily transition to the new platform without any extra hassle.
JioHotstar also introduces 'Sparks,' a new initiative meant to highlight India's top digital creators, further diversifying its content offerings. The platform's partnerships include major Hollywood studios and diverse regional production houses, ensuring a mix of international blockbusters and local hits, along with exclusive originals and engaging reality shows.
On the sports front, JioHotstar aims to transform live sports streaming in India. It will feature ultra-HD 4K streaming, multi-angle viewing options, AI-powered insights, and real-time statistics overlays for various sporting events like cricket tournaments, football matches, and other popular sports. This approach is designed to enhance the live viewing experience and make sports a truly communal affair for fans across the nation.
