Delhi Voters to Enjoy Free Rides Home After Polling
In a unique initiative aimed at boosting voter turnout, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi has partnered with bike taxi company Rapido to offer free rides home for voters on polling day, May 25th. This collaboration seeks to address transportation barriers and encourage citizens to exercise their democratic right to vote.
Voters in Delhi will have the option to book a complimentary bike ride through the Rapido app after casting their vote. A rider will then pick them up from the polling station and safely transport them back home. This initiative aims to provide a convenient and hassle-free voting experience, encouraging greater participation in the democratic process.
"With the provision of free bike rides on the polling day, we aim to ensure ease of voting experience and to encourage citizens to exercise their vote and contribute to the democratic process," stated P. Krishnamurthy, Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi. "Every vote counts, and it is essential to ensure that every eligible voter can cast their vote without hindrance."
Rapido, with its extensive network of eight lakh bike drivers and 80 lakh subscribers in Delhi, will ensure the availability of riders across the city's designated polling booths. This collaboration promises to make voting more accessible and convenient for all eligible voters in Delhi.
