New Delhi India January 3, 1987 ANI Vini Mahajan, IAS Punjab assumed the charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation on Monday in New Delhi.
According to the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Mahajan is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management IIM Calcutta, where she was placed on the Roll of Honour. Honours Economics from Lady Shri Ram College LSR Delhi University.
She was serving as Punjab Chief Secretary from June 26th, 2020. She served as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Departments of Housing and Urban Development, Government of Punjab and Industries and Commerce, IT and Investment Promotion.
She has been the Principal Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare since April 2012 and has been with the Department of Health and Family Welfare for 5 years. She also served as Principal Secretary of Medical Education and Research and Principal Secretary of Finance, Punjab.
Mahajan served as joint secretary to the prime minister of India from 2007 -- 2012 and earlier in 2004 -- 05 as a director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
