Apple just added AirPods to its holiday lineup

The executives of Apple Inc. announced custom Mac computers with the company s new chips and an upgraded pair of AirPods on Monday, filling out its holiday lineup.

Apple AAPL, unveiled a new version of its entry-level AirPods earphones featuring shorter stems, a wireless charger case and long battery life at a virtual event Monday. The company is also bringing spatial-audio capabilities, which aims to make sound more immersive, to the entry-level AirPods.

The third-generation AirPods, which will cost $119, will last for six hours on a single charge and feature a quick-charging function that can provide one hour of battery life after just five minutes of charging. It also released new colour options for the homePod mini speakers which is priced at $99. In addition, the company announced a cheaper voice plan for its Siri Music Service which will let people download Apple Music's playlist of songs for $4.99 to access it through Siri. This option is cheaper than the traditional Apple Music prologue for $9.99, but seems to withhold some in-app conveniences like tinkering with the app using iPod Nano by hand. The new AirPods and colorful HomePod mini speakers will be the latest addition to the apple iPad s mobile lineup which also includes the updated iPhone 13 line announced last month. The company once again released four new mobile phones with an emphasis on enhanced video and camera functions. The iPhones have a better filming function which produces better-quality footage. Shares of Apple were up 0.8% on Monday evening trading. They grew 22.6% over the past 12 months as the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, which counts Apple as a component, has increased 23.2%.
