The Northwest Arkansas Council is funding the Life Works Here campaign, funded by the Walton Family Foundation.

The Life Works Here incentive program will be in place in November 2020, which offers $10,000 and a bike to STEAM professionals interested in moving to Northwest Arkansas, according to council communications director Nate Green, told FOX Business. On Wednesday, we announced a new spin on the program. Green said that the move was intended to attract more participants in the technology to build up the region's tech economy.

According to Coin Metrics, the most valuable criptocurrency is currently trading at $42,566, which sweetens the incentive.

Northwest Arkansas is experiencing explosive growth in the tech sector, particularly withinBlockchain-enabled technologies, and this incentive embraces the growing trend ofcryptocurrencies as a payment option by employers, according to the council's website.

Applicants must be at least 24 years old, live outside of Arkansas and have at least two years of work experience. According to Green, the program is popular.

Over 36,000 people have applied since we announced. Green told FOX that 50 people have moved to Northwest Arkansas as part of the program.

More than 3,800 more people have applied since our latest announcement on Wednesday, according to Green. Applicants come from all over the country and internationally.

The most applicants are coming from California, Texas and Florida in the new batch of applications. We have also seen applications from 60 countries with the most coming from Canada.
