Bental Motors launches NFT collection on the Polygon scaling platform

British luxury car manufacturer Bentley Motors Limited is dipping its toes into the Web 3 ecosystem with the launch of a non-fungible NFT collection on the Polygon scaling platform.

The one-time NFT collection is set to drop in September 2022 and will feature 208 pieces only, according to the announcement. The number of NFTs is symbolic in that it represents the highest speed of Bentley's fastest Grand Tourer, the Continental GT Speed. The total number of the R-Type Continental of 1952 is 208.

Bentley Design will be responsible for creating the NFT collection. Collectors who purchase the NFTs will get exclusive access and rewards from Bentley. The NFTs price tag was not disclosed by the car manufacturer.

Bentley promised to direct the sale's proceeds towards supporting students interested in engineering, design, and manufacturing. The company intends to support organizations that push for sustainability, especially in the transportation industry.

The car manufacturer decided to drop its NFT collection on Polygon because the network is carbon neutral. The Bentley NFTs will be eco-friendly, helping the company to achieve its commitment to end-to- end carbon neutrality by 2030.

Bentley has become the second automobile company to enter the NFT market through today s announcement. Hyundai came first after collaborating with the NFT project Meta Kongz in April. This partnership is part of Hyundai Metamobility, the company's concept of the metaverse.

Hyundai and Meta Kongz launched 30 limited edition NFTs in a partnership that included 30 limited editions of the Hyundai x Meta Kongz NFTs.
