BJP has deep ties with liquor mafia, says Sisodia

New Delhi India January 4, ANI Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP for staging a Chakka jam to protest against the new excise policy in the national capital and alleged that the BJP has deep ties with the liquor mafia in the city.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi unit of the BJP staged a chakka jam against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party AAP government's new excise policy in the national capital. The BJP has accused the BJP of being involved with the liquor mafia in a revenue theft of more than 3,500 crores, which is alleged by Sisodia.

The deputy chief minister said in a statement that The BJP has deep ties with the liquor mafia in Delhi. The BJP had made a system in which where there were no legal liquor shops, they used to operate illegal shops and run them through the mafia. The new excise policy of the Kejriwal government has stopped revenue theft of over 3,500 crores. The loot of Rs 3,500 crores was witnessed by the BJP and the liquor mafia. The BJP has been feeling the pain because their theft has been plugged. The Kejriwal government is using the recovered revenue for public interest. The BJP is completely jolted by the new excise policy. The BJP leaders are now crying loudly and will not be able to fill their pockets illegally. The policy of Kejriwal government has led to no new liquor store opening in Delhi after 2015. The allotment of the shops that were running earlier was flawed. There were 10 to 15 shops in several wards and there were no shops at all in many wards. The BJP and the mafia ran illegal liquor shops together, where there was no liquor shop. This has been stopped by the government now. He said that not a single new liquor shop license has been given under the new excise policy.

Sisodia said that BJP and the liquor mafia were not deterring the theft, which led to the conversion of all taxes into a license fee which will help increase revenue.

There were around 2,000 illegal liquor shops on the street. We had taken a very strict position regarding this. There were about seven lakh illegal liquor bottles seized while taking action on illegal liquor in Delhi. 1,864 FIRs were lodged and 1,000 vehicles were confiscated. Despite being faced with such strictness, the BJP and the liquor mafia were not deterring the theft. We converted all taxes into a license fee. The license fee will give the license fee an increase in revenue. The Deputy Chief Minister condemned the alleged hooliganism created by the BJP on the streets of Delhi on Monday, and said that the misdeeds of BJP leaders were motivated by their criminal mindset.
