Blast injures 5 in Balochistan, at least 5 injured

Balochistan Pakistan January 18 ANI At least five people were injured in a blast near a railway track in Mashkaf area of Balochistan's Bolan district on Tuesday, according to local media.

The blast occurred when Rawalpindi-bound Jaffer Express passed by the area, according to Dawn newspaper, who quoted Muhammad Kashif from railways.

The train came from Quetta, the Publication said.

The blast had also derailed the train from the track, resulting in injuries to at least five people who were transported to a nearby hospital, he said.

In a statement by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo, the chief minister strongly condemned the blast and directed authorities to give immediate relief to the persons injured in the incident, according to Dawn.

The chief minister said that targeting a passenger train is a cowardly and highly reprehensible act.

He said that security agencies were active and working round the clock for the eradication of terrorism from the province, as those involved in the incident will not be spared.

The provincial chief executive said all resources are being used to maintain peace in Balochistan.

On November 2 last year, at least 13 people were injured, including four critically, in a blast in Balochistan's Kharan district, Station House Officer SHO Mohammad Qasim had said.
