Bosnian and Herzegovina sees 12.7 pct. more tourists in August

The total number of tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August 2022 was 195,222, which is 12.7 percent more than July 2022 and 29.2 percent more than August last year.

In August, tourists spent 469,671 overnight stays in BiH, which is 16.8 percent more than July 2022 and 22.8 percent more than August 2021.

Domestic tourists' participation in the total number of overnight stays was 31.6 percent, while the participation of foreign tourists was 68.4 percent.

Domestic tourists' overnight stays were 14.9 percent higher than in July 2022 and 4.1 percent higher than August 2021, according to the number of overnight stays by domestic tourists. The number of overnight stays by foreign tourists was 17.6 percent higher than July 2022 and 34 percent higher than August 2021, according to the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists.

In June 2022, the highest number of overnight stays of foreign tourists was realized by tourists from Serbia 9.8 percent United Arab Emirates 8.6 percent Croatia 7.5 percent Saudi Arabia 6.4 percent Germany 6.2 percent Kuwait 4.5 percent Slovenia 4.3 percent Turkey 3.8 percent and France 3.5 percent, which is a total of 54.6 percent. 45.4 percent of overnight stays were made by tourists from other countries, according to the BiH Agency for Statistics.
