
The Commission on Air Quality Management CAQM allowed the authorities in Delhi-NCR to resume physical classes for students in class 6 and above, colleges and other educational from tomorrow.
The air quality commission stated in an official statement that physical classes for students up to class 5 can begin on December 27. The State Governments of NCR and GNCTD may take decision for the resumption of physical classes, for students up to V standard, only w.e. The Air Quality Index and the Winter Vacation schedule are also taken into account on the 27th December, 2021, considering the winter vacation schedule and the Air Quality Index. It said that a phased re-opening approach will be followed with respect to schools, colleges and educational institutes in NCR.
All schools in Delhi had been closed on December 3 due to rising pollution in the national capital. The Supreme Court had pulled up the state government for resuming physical classes in schools despite an increase in air pollution levels in the city. If the government was implementing work from home for adults, then why was the child forced to go to school, according to the apex court. Before this, the Delhi government opened schools on November 29, 2021.
We had reopened schools because of the forecast that air quality would improve. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on December 2 that the levels of air pollution have increased again and we have decided to shut schools from Friday until further orders.
