COVID 19: Danish minister cites vaccines, third jabs

COPENHAGEN, Nov 30 Reuters - The health minister of Denmark said on Tuesday that the coronaviruses in Denmark are showing signs of stabilising and that the country's health minister cited vaccines and third jabs as possible causes.

The reproduction number is calculated to 1. Other key figures, such as the incidence, the positivity rate, etc., are also included. Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said on Twitter that infection growth is slowing and that we have a more stable epidemic.

The reproduct number is a measure of how many people one infected person transmits the virus to. A one means that the epidemic is neither accelerating nor slowing.

One in seven 12 year olds has received a 3rd shot, which could be due to immunity from vaccinations and revaccinations. There are more than 75% of the population who have been vaccinated in the Nordic country, with 13.5% receiving a booster shot.

In recent weeks, Denmark has recorded record levels of more than 4000 daily COVID 19 infections, from a low of around 200 in mid-September, but the country has so far avoided imposing tough lockdown restrictions.
